Veteran Henschel-Steinau executive Michael Luberto succeeds Gary Forman as President; Forman to retain CEO role.

ALLENDALE, NJ (July 2016) - Henschel-Steinau, a leader in retail marketing solutions, recently announced that long-time executive Michael Luberto has succeeded Gary Forman as President of the company.  As part of a planned succession, Forman will remain in his current role as CEO, supporting the strategic governance of the organization. The transition leverages the experience and expertise of Luberto to further the company's competitive position as a best-in-class provider of point-of-purchase (POP) solutions to the retail marketing industry.

"It is with great pleasure that I pass the torch to Michael," commented Forman upon making the announcement at a companywide meeting. Luberto remarked, "Gary has left very large shoes for me to fill, and I welcome the opportunity to continue to draw on his expertise, experience and friendship. These are truly exciting times at both Henschel-Steinau and in our industry as a whole. I look forward to working closely with our entire organization to continue providing our customers with the high value, innovative POP solutions we are known for."

Forman's track record of outstanding service and leadership to Henschel-Steinau spans more than 43 years. He is widely credited with helping the company establish and maintain its excellent reputation as a leader and innovator within the retail marketing industry. In 2013, POPAI acknowledged Forman's achievements and contributions to the greater industry with an induction into the organization's Hall of Fame.

Michael DeSena, a senior designer at Henschel-Steinau with over 30 years of experience, will be moving into Luberto's former role as the new VP of Creative Services.

Henschel-Steinau Creates Innovative Baby Formula Theft Deterrent System

EZ Roll Retail Shelf Design for Baby Formula Controls Dispensing, Improves Visibility

Henschel-Steinau Creates Innovative Baby Formula Theft Deterrent System

ALLENDALE, New Jersey (June 27, 2014) Leading retail marketing solutions company Henschel-Steinau has announced the introduction of an innovative new retail system:  a modular on shelf display that is designed to dispense baby formula, deterring would-be thieves while attracting customers.

When selecting display units for in-store marketing, retailers need to protect the store from theft without hindering customer access to products. According to an investigative report published by ABC News, baby formula is a product often targeted by sophisticated retail theft rings. The report stated that, in 2010, $15 billion to $30 billion were lost by retailers as a result of organized retail theft. Baby formula is a hot commodity for thieves because of its high market value and consumer demand.

"Retail theft, particularly of infant formula, is an issue that consistently plagues retailers. Our baby formula theft deterrent system addresses that pressing need through design that is both practical and customizable," said Patty Pellegrin, Director of Marketing and Sales at Henschel-Steinau.

The EZ Roll shelf designed by Henschel-Steinau represents a perfect marriage of utility and aesthetics. The unit dispenses a single product at a time which eliminates the threat of so called "sweep and go" shoplifting where multiple products are quickly swept into a bag or other concealing device. The security door is also connected to a customizable alarm which sounds when forced open, deterring thieves and alerting employees of the incident.

Henschel-Steinau's baby formula retail system fits all standard retail shelving and features modular construction, as well as FIFO rotation of product. Each individual module holds up to nine canisters and works for all major brands. The unit is easily installed which increases in-store employee compliance.

"Not only does this display unit address the major issue of product theft in retail settings, it also has great in store shelf appeal. Every unit has a built-in graphic holder to optimize branding and product visibility. It provides all the benefits of an eye-catching retail display with the added bonus of theft protection," commented Pellegrin.

HS Has Added an In-House 3D Printer to its Equipment List

New Equipment Addition Expands and Enhances Retail Display Modeling Capabilities

ALLENDALE, New Jersey (May 19, 2014)   Leading retail marketing solutions company Henschel-Steinau has announced that it recently added a cutting-edge piece of equipment to its repertoire - aStratasys Dimension 1200es 3D Printer. The team at Henschel-Steinau is confident that this new addition will allow them to expand their in-house capabilities and better serve retail clients both  large and small.

Although similar in appearance to conventional printers, 3D printers differ in their method of printing. Instead of depositing ink on paper, 3D printers spray or squeeze a special material, most commonly a type of plastic, onto a fixed surface. The material is deposited layer by layer, gradually forming the desired three-dimensional shape. According to ABC News, 3D printing technology has been used extensively in scientific and research realms but has only recently begun to gain traction in other industries, including commercial retail.

"We are very excited about the acquisition and implementation of this new 3D printing technology," said Patty Pellegrin, Director of Marketing and Sales at Henschel-Steinau. "This piece of equipment will serve as a uniquely valuable tool which will expand our design and modeling capabilities, allowing us to better serve our clients. It's a game-changer - our designers can now provide clients with an actual 3D modelof our creative vision for retail marketing solutions and trendsetting retail systems which strategically connect shoppers to brands."

Having a 3D printer on site allows Henschel-Steinau to offer in-house Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), a significant benefit in terms of creating and viewing prototypes. For instance, Henschel-Steinau will be able to take a two dimensional rendering of a retail display design and transform it into a scaled, three dimensional model within a 24 hour time period.

"Henschel-Steinau is committed to providing clients with the very best and most effective design, modeling, and production methodologies. That means we fully embrace cutting-edge technology like 3D printing - we recognize the value that such techniques can give to our customers," commented Pellegrin.

Henschel-Steinau Wins Two 2012 Design of the Time Silver Awards

(Allendale, NJ:  November,1  2012)  Henschel-Steinau, Inc., www.hspop.com, an award-winning, retail marketing solutions agency, received two Design of the Times Silver Awards in 2012 at the Shopper Marketing Expo.  The first award was for its family of upscale displays, a permanent floor stand, corrugated floor stand and a permanent counter unit on behalf of Church & Dwight's Trojan Vibrations Midnight Collection line of personal massagers.  The second award was for its EZRoll® Baby Food Category Management system, a design with multiple benefits in terms of retailer labor, product organization and sales stimulation.

For the dramatic Trojan Vibrations Midnight Collection, HS created an ingenious family to strategically position the Church & Dwight's Trojan Brand.  An upscale design philosophy was used to visually and dramatically communicate the product's premium nature, incorporating a tester design so shoppers can gauge the ergonomics of the product without opening the packaging.

All three Trojan displays connect with the shopper by mirroring the product packaging, with the permanent floor stand being a giant version of the product's package.  The equity inherent to the well - known Trojan logo played a large part in each of the executions, while the Trojan Trusted Quality badge played a prominent role in both of the floor stands.  The curvaceous design which plays a role in the design leverages the actual design of the products.

Henschel-Steinau's EZRoll® Baby Food Category Management system was developed to help organize what most retailers recognize as one of the most labor intense categories in their stores -- the baby food aisle. The EZRoll® Baby system helps retailers solve a multitude of problems faced in the areas of labor/stocking, in-aisle presentation, consumer messaging, and effective category management that have been present for generations.

The beauty of Henschel-Steinau's EZRoll® Baby Food Category Management system lies in its ability to clearly communicate product features boldly, thus making it easier for shoppers to navigate the category including product size, brand, stage and flavor information.

For the retailer utilizing the EZRoll® Baby System, the sale is closed by delivering a more efficient shopping experience and by reducing operating costs for each store.

Henschel-Steinau Stages In-Store Blitz to Support the Launch of iD Gum

Retailers Across the United States Blanketed With Henschel-Steinau In-Store Displays launching the innovative gum brand during the critical Back-to-School shopping season

August 27, 2012; Allendale, NJ - Henschel-Steinau, Inc., an award-winning retail marketing solutions agency, played a crucial role in the massive rollout of Kraft Food's new iD Gum, with dramatic in-store displays that are part of a retail blitz launching the innovative gum brand during the critical Back-to-School shopping season.

Beginning in August, shoppers became aware of the new iD gum, an image-driven sub-brand of the popular Stride gum, via thousands of displays designed and manufactured by Henschel-Steinau.

For the launch, Kraft assigned the firm the creation of floorstands, counter displays, power wings and an account-specific ½ pallet program to be used exclusively in more than 3,000 Walmart locations. The display will be the cornerstone of the iD launch in Walmart, where the display will play a focal point in planned in-store sampling of the product during the launch period when teens and their parents are on the hunt for school supplies.

The floorstands, powerwing and counter displays will be used at supermarkets, mass merchandisers, drug stores and convenience stores nationally.

In addition to the design and manufacturing, Henschel-Steinau also coordinated the pre-packing of the displays with hundreds of thousands of packs of iD and arranged shipment to Kraft's distribution centers strategically located at various locations across the United States.

Henschel-Steinau specializes in the design, manufacturing and logistics involved in staging major product launches for many of the world's top brands in a wide variety of product categories. The targeted teenage market for iD plays off the concepts of discovery and personal identity. The gum aims to inspire individuals to "pursue whatever sparks your curiosity to keep discovering." Its package is designed to "discover and reveal how everything works together - the gum, the flavors, the pack, the art - just like you," according to Kraft.

"The coordination of product packaging and the displays is always critical, but in the case of iD, the in-store campaign needed to be just as dramatic as the revolutionary brand's packaging, which is game-changing for the category in its unique graphic design, engineering and integration into how the consumer connects emotionally to the iD flavors and overall experience," explained Gary Forman, CEO, Henschel-Steinau.

The new iD gum comes in folding packs with magnetic closures. Packs are wrapped in semi-transparent cellophane that reveals original artwork from young artists to reinforce the theme of individuality and expression, according to Kraft. Each pack holds 14 individually wrapped sticks that are imprinted with colorful designs and are available in peppermint, spearmint and BerryMelon flavors.

"Our design approach was to create an in-store program that stood out at retail in a very competitive and visually cluttered category. Our approach to both the structural and graphic design spectacularly showcases the original artwork featured on the iD packaging and carries the product trays which can easily be restocked. We've created displays that appeal to the iD consumer, those who consider themselves individuals with a sense of style and unique identity," Forman added.

To enhance the experience and extend the consumer's bond with the brand beyond the purchase, the in-store campaign's graphics direct shoppers to the brand's website and Facebook pages where they can become part of the iD gum community.

Henschel Steinau Solves Merchandising Challenge for Wrigley's

Henschel-Steinau Helps Wrigley Solve Merchandising Challenge at Stop & Shop and Giant Foods Supermarkets With the Wrigley Big-E Modular Gravity Feed Bottled Gum Display

July 24, 2012: Allendale, NJ - Henschel-Steinau, Inc., an award-winning, retail marketing solutions agency, has designed and manufactured a gravity-feed display that can be used to merchandise Wrigley and competitive brand bottled gum in supermarkets in a space-efficient and creative manner.

"The Wrigley Big-E Modular Gravity Feed Bottled Gum Display, which debuted exclusively at Stop & Shop and Giant Foods, makes it possible for supermarkets to merchandise a full assortment of Wrigley brands' bottled gum products in the inline confectionary section, where 55% of gum sales volume is generated, in a much more space and labor efficient manner," said Gary Forman, Chief Executive Officer of Henschel-Steinau.

Wrigley is targeting young Moms, who are more likely to keep gum in their cars (and purses), share it with their families, and recognize the value offered by the bottled product.

Research shows that the bottle gum consumer is 3 times more loyal, and consumes 4 times more gum than the pack gum consumer.

"The standard shipper display trays that are ideal for merchandising on check-lane candy fixtures are not space or labor efficient when used on deeper in-aisle confectionary products sections shelves," Forman added.

Henschel-Steinau designed and engineered durable, cost-effective injection-molded plastic single facing display modules that accommodate every domestic brand of bottled gum currently on the market and utilize gravity to keep the product fronted on the display.

The displays can be snap-locked together horizontally to utilize all of the space available, and incorporate slide-out product trays that facilitate loading new product behind existing product.

"It was designed to accommodate competitor's bottled gum packaging so that it could be used to merchandise the entire category, and offer consumers a simplified shopping experience," Forman explained.

The molds were designed with inserts so that the modules can be produced in seven-bottle depths for use on standard 18-inch deep confectionary section shelving, or in a six bottle depth for placement on Magna-bars.  Both sizes hold more than a case of product, so displays require less stocking.

Henschel Steinau Creates Speciality Boutique Program

Henschel-Steinau, Award-Winning Retail Marketing Solutions Agency, Creates Trojan Vibrations Specialty Boutique Launch Program

July 1, 2012: Allendale, NJ  - Henschel-Steinau, Inc., an award-winning, retail marketing solutions agency, played a key role in strategically positioning Church & Dwight's Trojan Vibrations Midnight Collection line of personal massagers, by creating a family of three high-end upscale displays for specialty boutiques across the United States. The displays are currently rolling out in select retail boutiques across the United States.

Henschel-Steinau created three displays including a high-end permanent floorstand that incorporated lighting to draw shopper interest, a corrugated floorstand and an upscale counter unit to launch the product line in specialty boutiques.

The primary target for the displays is a female shopper who makes the majority of purchases in the personal massager arena. The category is emerging more than ever before with products being mainstreamed in traditional retail locations as well as specialty boutiques.

"The same design philosophy used in an upscale health and beauty aids display for major retailers such as Macy's or Bloomingdales where used here to communicate in a voice that women are familiar with," explained Henschel-Steinau Chief Executive Officer Gary Forman.

All three displays connect with the shopper by mirroring the product packaging, with the permanent floorstand being a giant version of the product package.

The combination of emotional appeal inherent to the high-end, elegant design, the dramatic use of color and the ability to test products all worked in concert to eliminate purchase doubt and drive the purchase decision, which is a highly personal one for the targeted female shopper. The equity inherent to the well-known Trojan logo plays a large part in each of the executions, while the Trojan Trusted Quality badge plays a prominent role.

"The bottom line is the Trojan Vibrations Specialty Boutique Program leads shoppers to make a purchase by clearly communicating the differences in the products, leveraging the Trojan brand equity successfully in an emerging category and sheer stopping power that guarantees the product gets noticed at retail," said Forman.

HS Launches Nature's Rescue Brand

Henschel-Steinau, Inc., Retail Marketing Solutions Agency, Creates Program to Launch Nature's Rescue Brand at Redken Hair Salons Across the United States

May 15, 2012; Allendale, NJ - Henschel-Steinau, Inc., an award-winning retail marketing solutions agency, has rolled out a launch program designed for Redken hair salons to introduce Nature's Rescue, a new collection of paraben-free, sulfate-free and silicone-free hair care essentials. Two dynamic displays were created as a way for Nature's Rescue to stand out on shelf and differentiate it from the rest of the Redken Haircare and Styling products.

With more salon clients wanting natural hair care products, the four new Nature's Rescue products offer an instant escape from everyday stress with water-fresh fragrances, cooling sensations and ocean-inspired textures to provide the perfect balance of moisture.

"Those Nature's Rescue brand equities and product attributes connected to the shopper with the use of natural, soothing imagery on the header graphics featuring blades of grass on a soothing azure background as well as the material from which the units are manufactured," explained Gary Forman, Chief Executive Officer, Henschel-Steinau.

The program needed to be visually appealing in order to attract attention on a cluttered shelf.  The graphics support the "rescue from bustling urban life" product line concept.

The Nature's Rescue Launch program included both a product glorifier and a tester display. The use of clear, colored plastic helped to command attention in the salon environment. The color hue of both the header graphics and the plastic mimic the color of the actual product and its' packaging, to create a visual synergy at retail.

Salon clients are invited to connect with the product through the tester feature and test strips that allow them to try the Radiant Spray product on site by either applying it or using the test strip.

The launch was supported in other media with social media, online advertising, a sampling campaign and print advertising in salon trade magazines. Redken.com was a large part of this launch as was email marketing to Redken's consumer and professional databases.
